Accommodation in New Delhi

As the deadline for commonwealth games are coming near, there are a lot of changes happening in the Bed and breakfasts in Delhi. Lots of Bed and Breakfast Delhi are coming up and if you were to put that into the search engines, you will see hundreds of establishments.

Incredible India has a list of 300 plus BnB's in Delhi. Wiht the economy going pear shaped, i wonder how do these BnB's are going to survive. I am told that these BnB's rely on foreign tourists to generate income. These Bnb's are usually based on the Delhi Homestay concept.

Recent figures from all over the world suggest that their is a recssion going on. USA, Uk, Iceland And the latest entry is Japan - all are in recession. With less spending power, due to job cuts etc, people have less money to spend on daily goods, let alone travel.

I personally think, that all these new BNB's will find it very hard to survive. Travel industry is a cut throat industry and to survive you have to be very dilligent. There are scams all over the place, especially near the Delhi Airport Hotels and with so many hotel rooms going empty, all the hotels arer trying all they can to woo customers.

I personnaly think that all these BnB's are going to fold up with global recession going on in full swing.
